Rockwood, ON – On Wednesday, representatives of the Township of Guelph/Eramosa met with local MPP Joseph Racinsky to celebrate a $200,000 Capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) which supported the Township’s new pickleball court project.
“Pickleball is a massively growing sport across the province. I am very pleased to see this generous contribution to recreation in our community that will help people of all ages stay active. Thank you to the Township of Guelph/Eramosa for their leadership and effort in applying for this grant,” said Joseph Racinsky, MPP for Wellington-Halton Hills.
The funding supported the construction of four new pickleball courts to the community, representing an important investment in local recreation infrastructure and the positive impact it will have on residents for years to come. The new courts will respond to the growing popularity of pickleball and support active, healthy lifestyles within the community. The project will provide a welcoming space for residents of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the sport and connect with others through recreation.
“The addition of pickleball courts at Rockmosa Park reflects the Township’s commitment to expanding recreation opportunities and enhancing community amenities,” said Mayor Chris White. “We are grateful for the support of the Ontario government and the Ontario Trillium Foundation in helping us deliver a project that will serve our growing community.”
Once completed, the courts will provide a dedicated space for one of Canada’s fastest-growing sports and further strengthen Rockmosa Park as a destination for recreation and community gathering.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to build healthy and vibrant communities across the province. In 2025-26, OTF invested nearly $107M into 746 community projects. Projects aim to enhance economic well-being, foster more active lifestyles, support child and youth development, provide spaces for people to come together and connect, and create a more sustainable environment.
