The Senior Active Living Centre keeps seniors fit, active, healthy, and socially connected in Wellington-Halton Hills
Wellington-Halton Hills—Today, MPP Joseph Racinsky, Wellington-Halton Hills announced that the Seniors Active Living Centre is receiving up to $57,000 in annual funding.
“Our seniors built this Province, and I am proud to be part of a government that believes in investing in our seniors. The active living centres throughout Wellington-Halton Hills do great work in providing activities and community for our seniors. I want to thank Minister Raymand Cho for his incredible leadership supporting seniors across Ontario.” said Joseph Racinsky, MPP Wellington-Halton Hills.
This year, Ontario is investing a record amount of close to $23 million to support 416 Seniors Active Living Centre (SALCs) programs across the province, including 97 new ones.
“Senior Active Living Centres keep our seniors, fit, active, healthy, socially connected, close to their homes and in their communities,” said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “Thanks to Premier Ford’s leadership our government is making the largest investment in Seniors Active Living Centre programs in Ontario’s history. This will help even more seniors, no matter where they live, including those in a city or rural, remote and northern communities live more healthy, happy and independent lives.”
The Active Seniors Centre is located at 150 Albert Street West in the Township of Centre Wellington. There is a wide range of programs offered, including social, health, recreational and educational activities and programs. There are many opportunities to attend active living programs, support services, or volunteering initiatives. These programs are tailored to individuals 55+ but is open to all ages.
